An Orchid I was given as a present and I've managed to get it to produce a new flower. I think it looks like an elegant swan. @orchidadvice @drnicko
Aww, that's lovely, can't wait to see what flowers it produces. @pixierose
@pixierose I was thinking the same a very elegant swan. Lovely plant.
Can't wait until it opens up... #anticipation 😄🤗🤔
Love the spotty leaves
Lovely I want one. Are they difficult to grow?💕
Beautiful
It really does look like a beautiful swan 😆
Lovely 😊
@sambucussam I find it quite easy to grow Orchids they're easier than people think. I have special orchid food that I have in a spray bottle and I spritz them every morning especially the roots. In the summer I'll do it twice a day. They don't like to be in direct sunshine ☀️ so a north facing window or the nearest you can get to. My Mum has hers in the conservatory on a tiered stand on the floor and hers do great. In the summer I put a shade film on the windows so they don't get too much sun.
@sambucussam they like humidity as well so having them on a gravel tray with a little water in so it evaporates around them highers the moisture levels. Don't have them sitting in water though. In the summer I take them all outside and dunk them in rain water and drain off and take them back in and then just spray them. Other people have different ways but mine seem to work well 😊🙏🏼👍🏼@orchidadvice

Do I need to split this now it’s finished flowering?
@christos can you help? 🤔🤔
@pixierose @pelly No. The new plant take energy and food from the mother plant. Keep it as it is and if you see new roots in spring might need repoting.
@Christos thank you 🙏🏼 I couldn’t remember if I need to split or not. My other orchid with the deep red flowers on the long spikes do I treat them the same?
Yes @pixierose . Soon you will have a very nice specimen.
