Help me identify this plant? It was full of flower last week and the leaves weren't yellow. Advice would be welcome

Hi Joanne, what were the flowers like on this plant? The leaves remind me of gardenia but I doubt if it would thrive outside! 😊

It had clusters of berry type buds and the white flowers. I had bought it a year or 2 ago x

I think it could be Japonica Skimmia which is in too sunny a position and has had snail damage. Will move it. Hopefully, sorted out the snails today x

Skimmia's tend to like a semi shady spot and slightly acidic soil. Yellow leaves can be caused by the plant not getting enough nutrients so I'd try giving it some ericaceous compost and also feed it with some plant food for acid loving plants.
