We call them custard apple too @jolene @leisel ☺️ but before posting this, I did some reading and apparently, that's a name shared by several species depending on the country.. so I stuck to the unique common name 🙂 Annona reticulata has the common name custard Apple.
@gjones it's intensely sweet and when it ripens, the individual circular segments you see crack and loosen. I don't like it but it's generally considered to be very scrummy. I can see why, but it's a personal bias 😅 my grandpapa had a farm where he grew these amongst other fruit varieties
As the name suggests, these fruits are intensely sweet. Very commonly available in India, and much of Asia I imagine! #fruit #gyo #urbangardening

Very nice! It's very similar to one we have here in Brazil.
We Aussies call them Custard Apple as they are soft fleshy inside with many black seeds.
