This lovely woody #climber is native to #India and #Burma . A study of the flavour molecule, 2-acetyl-1-pyrroline (found in basmati rice/ jasmine), noted that this flavour molecule is synthesised in abundance in the basmati plant, as it is in these bread flowers and pandan leaves. The fragrance of this flower is likened to that of pandan leaves.. these flowers attract #butterflies and #hummingbirds • #newongt #breadflower #vallaris
Tbt to earlier this summer when I purchased this #vine . It has grown much since, almost covering half a window. #fragrant #climber #beefriendly #newongt #new

That's beautiful I don't know if it will grow in U.K. 💛💛
I think it would, but I don't know where you'd find one, Carole 😊 @karolk
Love the ruffled petals 👌🏼
Me too, @rachelbrooks ! The crimped edges remind me of delicate sugar flowers made using a mould.
They do! Had something similar on my wedding cake! 😆
I'm going to learn how to make them this year!! I'll post snaps when they teach me 🎂 @rachelbrooks
Oh yes, do! 👍🏼👏🏼
I have found the Latin name Vallaris glabra but unfortunately it isn't available any where in UK 🙁
That's a shame, Carole :/ @karolk
