Hello friends! Life has taken its toll, and I was away for a while. Many new followers, and lots of likes on my lovely plants 💕 thanks! Hopefully, even with my newest babe my third child, I will be able to post more as I’m starting to get back to gardening. Unfortunately, an illness in pregnancy didn’t allow me to do a lot of gardening, but with fall approaching I’ve got my mind on my fall garden 🌱 here’s the first flower forming on my #dragonfruitcactus !! #cactus #flowering #dragonfruit

Best fruit ever! You will need to plant 2-3 of them tied to a 2m concrete pilar or a resistant wood pilar well attached to the ground. When the plant reachs the top, just cut the ends and they will branch. It needs sun and not much water.

7/19/18 Finally staked my #dragonfruitcactus . A piece broke off, I stuck it in a pot with another piece that broke that’s now rooted. I have #newgrowth all of a sudden and felt I NEEDED to take some time with him. The top right is pretty big new growth #1. My #mooncactus that I’ve had for almost four years. The grafted top fell off ages ago, I forgot I even planted this, and let the flower bed overgrow... One day I went to fix the bed and found it alive! I never thought to take a photo of it standing on the wall. This is it now fallen. You can see the roots it gripped onto the wall with. I also have a small cutting, maybe 6-8 inches that I have in a separate pot. I think this one is 2 feet tall when standing. #moon-cactus

Oh my gosh I didn’t know #mooncactus was only the grafted top part, and that this bottom section is actually #dragonfruitcatctus . Too cool! I sure hope it keeps growing. My husband loves #dragonfruit

Dragon fruit cactus are usually propped up on some kind of big frame (from what I've seen on YouTube vids).
