Acer palmatum 'Bloodgood'. Photographed today, 10 June 2017, at Reedie Cottage Gardens, East Scotland. Took this photo at 4am this morning. Couldn't sleep, so went for a wander in the garden. @houseofflowers Thanks. I had a long sleep until lunchtime, after my 4am wanderings!!! 😀 It has taken approx 12yrs for it to look like this! It was a gift, and was less than 2ft tall, and looked like a thick twig with a few thin branches. Replanted 3 times over 4yrs, to find the right place for it!!!

Acer palmatum 'Bloodgood'. Photographed yesterday, 18 Oct 2016, at Reedie Cottage Gardens, East Scotland. I love how this 'Bloodgood' goes from a deep red/burgundy to an intense bright red in Autumn. You can just see the deeper colour of Physocarphus 'Diablo' in top left of pic, which makes the red of 'Bloodgood' just more intense! Over Winter, the bark of Acer 'Bloodgood' is a deep burgundy xolour, that looks fab against the snow! 😀🍁🍂🍁😀 #autumncolour #acer #bloodgood #brightred #brightcolo
