Papaver oriental 'Patty's Plum'. Photographed yesterday, 14 June 2017, at Reedie Cottage Gardens, East Scotland. It was a lovely sunny afternoon yesterday, and the sun was shinging right on this bloom! So much so, that rather than being a dusky purple/plum, it looked almost cerise!!! Gorgeous flower. #papaver #pattysplum #purpleplum #cerise #bright #reediecottagegarden

Looks very bright for a Pattys Plum. Mine is more dingy purple. Originated on Mrs Patricia Marrows compost

@KatherineCrouchGardenDesign It is definitely 'Patty's Plum'. I think it is the way the light is hitting it that is making it so bright. It is the only flower on it this year. Last year I had loads, and they were darker as they should be. I think I post a wet from last previously, but will do so , just to see the difference 😀
