It's purple loosestrife. It's an invasive species here. That said, there are sterile ones which I have in my garden.
Wow, thanks @MelanieAt 😱 had no idea this was the dreaded purple loosestrife! Just read each plant can produce over 2 million seeds! One site I was reading says the sterile plants are not proving to be very sterile. As lovely as it looks, will stay away from this plant.
Shame it's so invasive. It's a beautiful plant.
