I bought a Sago Palm last spring, although it’s not done much since. No signs of new foliage yet but it’s still green so must be fine. They are slow growers so it will come along when ready #houseplant #indoorplant #cycas #cycasrevoluta #cycas-revoluta #sagopalm #sago #cycad

Yeah, my old tutor has one which is enormous he puts his outside in the summer so I think I’ll do the same. I read once that when the new fronds do start to come through I need to leave it in the same position until it’s fully unfolded otherwise they twist and stay permanently warped @cyndi

It’s a bit breezy out there today! Be careful if you’re out and about in the garden. Thought I’d share a few more holiday plant finds to make you all feel warmer 😎☀️🌴. This is (I think) a Japanese Sago Palm (Cycas revoluta) #cycad #sagopalm #mexico #holidayfind #cycasrevoluta 🇲🇽 - technically not a Palm, but a Cycad with Palm like foliage. Native to Southern Japan.

Fabulous! I have a cycad as a houseplant- it has 3 fronds, one of which is twisted from growing against a window 🙄😂😂

Reminds me I’ve not added my cycad to my plant pics!

Oops 🙊 @awomanonabike ... I’d love to be able to grow this at home. Although it’s next to your window, is it in sun or just bright? I wonder which window I could try it with (running out of space fast! 😂)

I know, they are quite slow growing Betty - certainly need patience for these 😂 @kvetinka

They are beautiful Rachel - it’s a shame there’s a bit of yellowing on some of the leaves but I recall from a link that Katie sent me once that it is a common problem with these @rachelbrooks

They are quite deceiving too @gjones as they look quite feathery to touch but actually are quite rigid and sharp 🙊 I got caught out at first!

Yup! I’ve made a mental note (as I walked by it today). I’ve got plenty of plants still to put on. But haven’t identified most of them.

Apparently they’ve bred some moth-resistant variety so it looks good year-round. @rachelbrooks @richard.spicer.7906
