Narcissus ‘Geranium’ - definitely not a geranium but instead the first #heritagedaffodil I have to show you this week, lovely multi-headed cultivar - had a mix up with bulbs a couple of years ago when I originally ordered them but glad I’ve now got the right ones 😀👌🏼 #narcissus #daffodil #narcissusgeranium - first registered pre 1930s

They look so delicate😍💞
'Geranium' (not an actual geranium, that’s the variety name! 😆) - registered pre 1930 #heritagedaffodil - a tazetta form which has up to six flowers per stem.
What does tazetta mean?
Mmmmm, I think I bought this one from Richard Jackson’s Garden last autumn. 🤔 I must check my list and my pots 💛
I've got these too.💛🤍🧡 They are in pots, can I leave them in there until next year or do I need to take them out and store them? Not grown many bulbs before so not sure what to do with them once they have finished. 🤔😊
Tazetta just refers to the parentage - tazetta forms usually have one of the parents as the species Narcissus tazetta (or one of the cultivars linked to it) and they also often have multiple flowers per stem @sharonhayden
Did you find it Barbara? I bought what I thought were these years ago and they ended up being something completely different. Tried again a couple of years ago and finally got the right ones! @jacaranda
Morning Celina! I’m starting to notice I struggle with bulbs in pots after the first year. I keep getting caught out by the dry and warm springs we’ve had the last couple of years and the bulbs don’t seem to like it in pots. So I’m starting to move many of them into the ground. They are perfectly fine for that first year in a pot, but I’m gonna try planting them out after that. Probably does them better in the long term. Nice and deep too to stop the squirrels digging them up! @cee
Ok, thanks Rich👍
Yes, found them! They’re in the garden but not looking great as they seem a bit stunted. Maybe they need a bit more sunshine to make them grow a bit more? I’ll post a photo so you can see what I mean. 👍😘
Thankyou rich feel like I’m doing your gardening course 🤪
@richard.spicer.7906 .... Fabulous.
