Thanks! It should do eventually but it’s quite young still. I know Julie’s got one that is flowering indoors, I think she keeps it in her conservatory? @juliesgarden (I think it was Julie 🤔)

My friend has one that she grew from a seed she collected on a holiday, it’s a huge plant now and flowers every year, she keeps it in her conservatory, I’ll see if I can find my post on here.

I have one too that I got 25 years ago. It sits in a bay window but no flowers. I am starting to give up on it !

Oh... that’s a shame David ☹️ I’ve only just getting used to mine. I killed another one as I over watered it, but this one seems to be ok. Do they like to be pot bound perhaps like Agapanthus? @davyc

I just had a look on the RHS site and looks like they seldom flower indoors in windows. They need humid conditions so I guess it’s too warm where I have it. Maybe one day a conservatory!! @richard.spicer.7906

Morning 👋🏼 - one for @jeatacake and @valjones-hughes - here's my little Strelitzia. I got it in spring as a baby and growing it on. It's a slow grower but I've already had one new leaf this year #streliziareginae #birdofparadise

I was given one some time ago but it's still only about half that size. What are you feeding it?🌱🙂

That's looking really well @richard.spicer.7906 Wonder how long it will take to flower?

@jan06 - coincidently, I've not fed it anything special although it was only recently potted up. Will probably give it some feed now in the spring.

I reckon probably at least a couple of years yet before I see any flowers @valjones-hughes

Do these plants require high humidity??

richard.spicer.7906

Hi @mardel 😊👋🏼 - so far I’ve not felt it needed it, mines growing slowly but surely. However given it’s a tropical like plant I guess it might do better in a higher humidity environment if the temps were higher. I wouldn’t worry about it during the winter but maybe later in the summer 🤔

You could try misting it lightly perhaps? I did lose my first one as I overwatered a bit too much, so I’ve cut down on that now with my new one @mardel
