To my gues- pruning ONLY wont help solve the infestation. Yu have to apply some sort of insectiside. I hope some One with a better knowledge about the plant can help you.

@DR.Bell yes ur right... i will surely spray it.. but was worried if these infest in other plants. That’s why thought pruning wud be safe.

@Ritu Isolate the plant from other plants.

Spraying with neem oil will help

Cordyline it is. The overgrown plant may be prooned and rooted.
