Looking fantastic🍓 wondering 🤔how often do you water them?

I’ve been watering everyday in the heat and usually when the top soil goes dry. I had to reapply hay because it was starting to decompose. @crabby58

Ok, thank you..I think I need to reapply more hay also👍and water more, I was watering about 2x a week, soil seems dry. @rudester1

I have them outdoors in a 10 gallon grow bag. I love these things. My other ten gallon bag had 6 parsley heads and they produced well into the frost. I highly recommend them if you lack grow space. @crabby58

Interesting..thank you, I'd love to give them a try, if I can find them. I'd put one on my deck for the strawberry plants to keep the rabbits out of them, they don't come up on our deck👍

@paigeblanton I moved these from the ground since they weren’t producing and this is their second year in their grow bag. I find the plants produce a better root system since the bag is breathable. Last year I had parsley the size of celery thanks to these bags.

I just ordered the grow bags, looking forward to trying them. What type of dirt did you fill them with? Looks like regular potting soil. Did you get a lot of strawberries from them being in the grow bags?

Yes, 50% regular garden soil with 20% perlite, 20% peat moss and 10% compost. The first year of growth I let it focus on the mother plant itself and kept trimming the runners as they grew. Last year was my first year with them and they produced a good amount. I did struggle with the squirrels as well so half was lost to them. Tulle or mosquito netting will help with keeping them away. @crabby58

I also throw in earthworms I find outside when it rains. I have a bucket I keep outdoors with soil that I throw them in. I keep it away from rain and I make sure to have drain holes. Every now and again I throw in scraps. I try to not overcrowd with scraps because it takes a while to break down. What I’ve been doing lately is let my food scraps dry out then blend them. I add the dry mixture to the soil as fertilizer during growing season. @crabby58
