Looking fantastic🍓 wondering 🤔how often do you water them?
I’ve been watering everyday in the heat and usually when the top soil goes dry. I had to reapply hay because it was starting to decompose. @crabby58
Ok, thank you..I think I need to reapply more hay also👍and water more, I was watering about 2x a week, soil seems dry. @rudester1

Progress pic. Added hay to cover the ground so the strawberries don’t rot. All plugs have tons of flower buds forming. Excited for what’s to come this season. #strawberry #growbag #containergardening
That's exciting😯
Looks fantastic😃I received my grow bags from Amazon a couple days ago~yay👍ready to plant my strawberries and put them out on our deck 😃 yours look great!
That’s great! I’ve also had success with carrots, watermelon, parsley and cucumbers. I can’t wait to see what’s in everyone’s garden this season. So exciting. I have a variegated tomato I’m testing out this year for the first time. Cute little buggers. @crabby58
Sounds YUM never seen a variegated tomato, sounds exciting to grow something different. Good luck😃

Cleaned up the strawberry patch. Getting ready for the growing season. #strawberries #springcleaning
Looks great, are they in a planter?
I have them outdoors in a 10 gallon grow bag. I love these things. My other ten gallon bag had 6 parsley heads and they produced well into the frost. I highly recommend them if you lack grow space. @crabby58
Interesting..thank you, I'd love to give them a try, if I can find them. I'd put one on my deck for the strawberry plants to keep the rabbits out of them, they don't come up on our deck👍
@paigeblanton I moved these from the ground since they weren’t producing and this is their second year in their grow bag. I find the plants produce a better root system since the bag is breathable. Last year I had parsley the size of celery thanks to these bags.
@crabby58 Thelma, these are the brand of bags I used last year with great success. I just ordered a set for my mom this year. BIEZIAYA 6-Pack 7 Gallon Grow Bags, Heavy Duty Thickened Aeration Fabric Pots Nonwoven Fabric Bag with Waterproof Plant Repotting Square Mat and Gardening Gloves for Fruits Flower Vegetable Plants https://www.amazon.com/dp/B089ZPJQNT/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_ZDK15N94C7K7PVZY5CH4
Thank you😃much appreciated👍 @rudester1
I just ordered the grow bags, looking forward to trying them. What type of dirt did you fill them with? Looks like regular potting soil. Did you get a lot of strawberries from them being in the grow bags?
Yes, 50% regular garden soil with 20% perlite, 20% peat moss and 10% compost. The first year of growth I let it focus on the mother plant itself and kept trimming the runners as they grew. Last year was my first year with them and they produced a good amount. I did struggle with the squirrels as well so half was lost to them. Tulle or mosquito netting will help with keeping them away. @crabby58
I also throw in earthworms I find outside when it rains. I have a bucket I keep outdoors with soil that I throw them in. I keep it away from rain and I make sure to have drain holes. Every now and again I throw in scraps. I try to not overcrowd with scraps because it takes a while to break down. What I’ve been doing lately is let my food scraps dry out then blend them. I add the dry mixture to the soil as fertilizer during growing season. @crabby58
Thanks a bunch for all the great info, much appreciated👍
A little neglect and she’s thriving. I was a bit overbearing in the beginning lol 😂 squirrels dug out the center plants but she replenished her bag with runners and she’s full once again. #strawberries-gyo #mosquitonet
Looking 💚nice~n~full 🍓 I haven't seen any squirrels around since I added a few rubber snakes 🤪
Looks great. Gotta keep those squirrels out. 👍
