I agree they look like seed pods if you keep those on the plant and once they start getting dark don’t wait once they get a darker color you break them open and there a small round blk seed in each one. But u can also break or cut the bulb in the ground take a part with root and move it to another spot. Google propagating canna lillies or how and when do I take the canna lily seeds. Good luck. It’s not hard. Canna lillies are nice I have red ones and a peach color and was gifted 4 yellow canna s
Thanks everyone for the help. The plants are in my neighbor's property. @osckar, the plants are not flowering now and unfortunately I don't have photos. @terrimclaughlin, I got some seeds and will try to germinate them. They seem to have a very hard shell. Should I break it?
@rzgonsalves try asking your neighbor for a rhizome, it's a faster way of propagating and you benefit your neighbors plant as it doesn't get overcrowded. In the right conditions, Cannas tend to be invasive, specially if the are tall varieties, like the one I have. Cannas seeds are very tough, I read they can live as long as 600 years!
@osckat I agree if you get one that one will make and if you just break apart The rhizomorphs their very easy to grow. Rzgonsalves their rhizomes are sort of like a bulb in texture rhizomes grow good!!😊💕
Help me identify this plant. #plantid
Looks like Canna from those leaves & seed pods
Some variety of #canna maybe indica or coccinea, those are the seed pods, do you have photos of the flowers?

I found that just soaking the seeds in water for 24 hours before planting should be enough to get them to germinate
Thanks, @jeatacake. I'll try it.

@osckar, I'll get a rhizome, but will try the seeds too. This variety seems to be of the tall ones. Long live the cannas.
