I split my very large plant last Spring into six smaller ones, three went to my very appreciative friends and I have three spaced along the shady border. They are all performing really well which shows it is a good thing to split large old perennials to rejuvenate them 👍🏻😍
Ooh early flowers 😊😊💕💕I've got healthy foliage but no sign of flowers yet.
They won’t be long Christine @midnightgardener These are doing really well since I split my big old plant last year 👍
@sadieberg Crikey I don't think I'd dare split mine. Yours must've been a big one 💕💕I worry that I'd sever the roots. Mind you, I had to split an Agapanthus recently. Boy that was a job. They're tough as old boots. Fingers crossed they flower this year as I've had a easily over a year
Mine was big and old and it wasn’t flowering very well. When I dug it up I could see where the ‘buds’ of new growth were so it was quite easy to split @midnightgardener
