Fresh harvest for a salad to pass at brunch with friends today. Even the ginger-carrot dressing was from my garden. Cucumbers, purple cosmic carrots, various types of lettuce, nasturtiums, parsley, borage flowers, and free tomatoes from the chickens. #purplecosmiccarrots #romainelettuce #redleaflettuce #parsley #escarole #nasturtiums #cucumbers #tomatoes #freshisbest #borage #gyo #eatwhatyougrow #organic #springsalad

@KariSamuel Um, yes they do, kinda. Every single tomato I have this year is a volunteer that has grown from the chickens bedding that's been composted. We get lots of scraps for the chickens from an organic restaurant. I compost the bedding but tomatoes grow from the compost. I've given away over 50 tomato plants & my "tomato forest" has many plants well over 8' tall. I've harvested over 90 pounds of free tomatoes this year and every single one was totally free. Winner, winner, chicken dinner!

Perhaps. Now there are many new tomato plants in my raised garden beds because of the compost. It's either from their poop or from the bedding . Either way it's free tomatoes for me. @KariSamuel
