Cucumis melo var. cantalupensis

Cantaloupe and watermelon. I tried growing it on a trellis, so it wouldn't take up much room. Now I know why u shouldn't, bc u can't find them. But when u do. Surprise.. hopefully w this cold spell, in Chicago, they keep growing a bit more. .

First is a cantaloupe, Found a big one this morning. Could be watermelon. Planted 1 of each next to eachother. Either way. Pretty excited, there could be more, but everything is green, so it all blends in.

My only surviour, so far! Hope it's the best tasting cantaloupe there is. It's slightly bigger then a golf ball.

So far only seen that 1. When I was outside today I found 1 more that's bigger. So just 2. But it was worth a try. Lots of tiny ones fruiting, but didn't make it

Only little guy that's left. Hope it does well. Melons and watermelons have been tough..
