Might be your beads. They like high humidity and wet soil but not too wet. They do so much better outside for sure. I’m in a green house so it’s a little different for mine. Lots of humidity in there.
@docthrill This was actually in soil prior to the beads. Humidity shouldn’t be an issue since I live about a mile from the ocean, but perhaps it wasn’t warm enough for it. I have two in soil still so we shall see...
I’ve been told there easily cloned in water. Think I’m going to try. Working on #coleus clones, so far so good. Persian Shields are not that different.

These honestly suck in the fall and winter. Don't feel bad. I'm thinking of not even bringing mine in to over winter and buying new in spring
