Spent a couple of hours harvesting last week resulting in a bucket of #crocosmia #seedpods! Hopefully even more colour next year 😃

I saved some Crocosmia Lucifer seeds from mine last years & they had produced decent strong seedlings this year 👍

Sustainability eh! @jeatacake

Absolutely! 👍😉

I have a good few of these @jeatacake. What should I do with them? I don't have a greenhouse though

Ooh that's another job I have to do ☺

@TraceyH all I do is collect them when the seed pods start to open, preferably when it's dry! Then them by putting them in the shed in the bucket so that the others pods dry off, harvest the seeds and then stick them in where I want them. It's worked so far! (I'm no professional mind!) 😃

@SylviaDavies I'm was just going to cut them off but now I'm going to give this a try. I bought two and put them in this summer so it's a good way to get more for free and help to fill up my bland border

I'm going to try this to stop it spreading where I don't want it - I just end up digging it up and splitting it and it's tuff

That's the problem @diane051285 as it goes to seed it droops and then the seeds end up dropping away from the base where you want them to strengthen, it may work!

These self seeding clumps of colour are so welcomed at the tail end of the season!

What a beautiful view. 🏞

Stunning surroundings 👌

Your gardens, are awesome, your surroundings are breathtaking, so jealous 😊💞😘👌👍 @SylviaDavies

Thank you all! @bookworm68 @christineb @kathy @rachelbrooks @kimco 😃
Is there a different name for the orange tinted red ones? I have the smaller orange mombresias too.
If they are taller they are likely to be Lucifer 👌
Fabulous ❤️❤️
