With little knowledge, I'm slowly turning an acre field into a garden! This is my first gardening attempt, so there's such a lot to learn! 🐝🦋🌻

What fascinates me is I kept the seeds from the original plant and have sewn them all over the garden. That has resulted in fantastic colours. Where they self seeded they are all pink! ? !? 🙄

@latebloomer it was a real show last year. I collected seeds again last year and I've dotted them all over so hopefully will have them all over! #freeplants. What was weird was that they were all different colours from seeds from the same original plant!? 🙄

I love the two tone! Can anyone tell me when you should take off the flowered stems... Can I leave them whilst there is colour on the stem or do I need to cut them as do soon as the base turn to small pods? I hate cutting flowers that have colour left in them!

I usually cut the spent flowers off just as they have finished but if you want to save some seeds then you need to let some of those pods ripen

@angiesgarden I let them go to seed last year so that I could have more! Ended up sitting some seeds around the garden and they have all come this year. I've also run some late seeds so that I can have some later in the summer, hopefully! Thanks for the advice 😃

Cut off the flower stem when it's about 3/4 seed. That way the plant doesn't put too much energy into producing seeds. It will also encourage the plant to produce more flowers.
