My Pygmy Date Palm only just made it through this winter but some of the leaves have turned brown. I did cover it up and put it between 2 conifers to protect it. I only watered it a couple time during the November to April. Should I have watered it more often?? I'm afraid that watering a plant when there's frost about can do more damage than good??

Yes that looks correct re identification ....the soil needs to be kept damp, never allowed to dry out. Perhaps that is the reason for the brown leaves. Welcome to GTags ...enjoy this great app 👋😊🌴
