Acer palmatum 'Orange Dream'

Can anyone tell me what the white blobs are on this Acer and if there is a nature sensitive way of treating it? #pests

Ive got this on one of my trees clare as well, so be keen to know what it is myself.

Hi David @davewrightjoinerygooglemail.co I've done some research and had a closer look at this photo. Unfortunately it looks like Scale Insect which is a parasitic (to plants) insect. It can be treated with a chemical or organic spray which is good news.

I just lost my green Acer plant to the same thing. It's like all white powdery stuff at the bottom of the plant.

Oh no that's terrible Jojo @jostarbuck Mines ok at the moment but I need to do something or lose it too. Did a bit of research online and found Neem oil might work plus its organic so won't harm bees, butterflies etc.

This little beauty is orange in spring as the leaves appear and then turns to bright green in summer.
