Why is stem black?

The stem is a dark brown as it ages, It's just appearing black in this pic, the new petioles also emerge darkened and green up later @moore.794

I'm not sure @cyndi I've only ever separated the pups so I'll let u know, it's only been cut a few days now 😊

Mama had babies #pups #propagation can also easily root from leaves but waiting for pups is much more time wise
