Damn it! I wasn't going to miss this bloom, I was keeping an eye on it and wouldn't you know I missed it! Well at least you can see the beautiful #pattern on the #spathe and the #spadix is over 12" and growing #arum #voodoolily
Slippery devils, Voodoo lilies! #weirdness

Very cool!💘
Mine blew up this year, it's over 6ft tall!
@tinaaune those markings are fascinating! (mine are the exact opposite colours!?) It must be the varietys or food I'm guessing? Have you fed them any certain way this cycle or any food suggestions?🤣 My apologies I've a thousand questions for you now because we're such a small group within the Aroid keepers/lovers.😍😍😍😍🧘♂️🧘♂️🧘♂️😮😮😮👁👁👁🌠🌌
@Sephy no problem, this one "survives" solely on neglect with me so no special treatment, this one has had no feeding this season and the only diff that I can think of is that in its dormancy it sits in my basement plant room that can get down to about 35°F 🤔
@tinaaune That's coool! Litteraly haha. I wonder if it has any correlation with it? Regardless it's stunning as is the whole family🧘♂️💞🧘♂️🌌👌🌌😍
Let's talk about the blooming process, has yours bloomed and do they bloom consistently ? @Sephy
I got my voodoo corms from Sweden as 2 yr olds, that was 2 years ago now but they've never bloomed yet. They've just got lusher and already had several kids. In the UK its possible to get flowers after 8yrs as I know of yet..worth the wait I adore my cryptics 🧘♂️☢☣☠💀🌌 @tinaaune I'm not 100% sure about their bloom cycles either but I'm defo going to do stone research now just to scratch the itch lol*
I know after dormancy the bloom should come before the foliage in spring, I thought I was just missing it so I started checking earlier but no blooms yet ever 10 years or so, I've heard it's the size of corm that determines blooming? @Sephy 😘 good luck!
Isn't it a mysterious monster! do you take your corms out of the media after summer to store or what like? I just let my soil go dry and leave them in a shady spot upstairs. How about you? Yes I believe the size of the corms play a good part in flowering times.😎👊👍👌😍👁🌌🌠
They stay in the pot just as they are to go into basement and stop watering @Sephy
How's this for a presentation #unfurling #voodoolily #aroid
