What do you use your loofah for Theresa? I've always been intrigued.

@shinygarden584 the fruit that grows looks like a giant zucchini, when it dries you peel the outer layer off and inside is a fibrous sponge, can be used as a body scrubber, multi purpose scrubber etc... https://littlesproutslearning.co/12-ways-use-luffa-sponge-wont-believe/

@cyndi this hurricane is a beast! would rather be anywhere but in the middle of FL when it hits, if it does make it up to Georgia, it will have slowed down some! It's my hope anyway! You may get effects from this as well :( keep safe yourself! There is another right behind Irma...Monday is when we will know for sure 😰😕😯✌

Found 2 luffa gourds!

@gjones these are about 15" long...they can get up to 2 1/2 ft long 4-7" in diameter

treefrog44

@gjones When the gourds start turning yellow/brown I pick them, sometimes they will fall off green from the weight, when they are completely dry peel the outer skin off, the luffa is the dry fiber inside, the seeds are in the center. Usually you can shake them all out. You can use them as scrubbies, or as a bath/body scrubber, like the ones you buy in the store 😆

@bpetty55 it's an actual luffa that's sold as a bath sponge! It grows as a gourd, when it dries, you peel the outer layer, inside is the luffa sponge! 😉
