No @clustyroen They survived in pots last year with straw on top outside. This year they are staying in the ground heavily mulched with manure ☺

Very nice! I’ve got one in a pot and was going to put it in the greenhouse no we’ve had a light frost. Do I need to cut it back?

@ferg74 It should die back naturally if in a cold greenhouse but if you're short on space then it won't do any harm to cut it down

I am stunned at the difference in the cannas since putting them in the ground, they are much happier and really spreading out in less than 2 weeks 😍

I'm so chuffed with them @lamaisonbleueoleron They must have been suffering and squashed up in the pots. It's as if they've breathed a sigh of relief 😂 I'm going to leave them in the ground with a big dollop of horse manure over them for winter ☺

Julie, I can see why your so chuffed, it's good when plants bounce back. 👍 I've had cannas in the ground for a couple of years now but they come up but don't flower I think it's cause of is location it can get so dry. I've moved them twice, I don't want to risk it again. I'll try extra horse manure this year see what happens 👌 #tip

I've read they are as greedy as bananas. Luckily my borders are about 80% manure 20% soil 😂😂😂 @lamaisonbleueoleron

Noticed a couple of the overwintered cannas are in bloom today. No buds yet on the new tubers I planted so guessing my pots covered in straw had a bit of a head start. The #bee likes them 🐝
