This has been a great surprise. Huge clouds of purple flowers on the flower which I planted because I love it, not because it fits my native wildlife garden. However what’s been the great surprise is that #hoverflies love it! There’s been loads visiting the flowers all day and I’m so pleased! #wildlife #purple #flowers #macro 04-08-19

First flowers have opened on this since it started climbing!
I'm tempted to buy one next year but supposedly it grows quite fast. I already have passionflower vine which keeps me on my toes.
@ublaszko yes it seems to be growing quick! I’ve put it onto an obelisk so fingers crossed I can keep it under control 😂
I think I'll stay away. 😅 I already have passionflower, red jasmine and cobea that I have to keep pruning to keep in check 😥
@ublaszko sounds like a plan! I hope I don’t live to regret it 🤔
You probably can chop it back after flowering or in spring. I hard prune my passionflower leaving just a couple of main vines and the rest gets chopped off. 😁😁
@ublaszko thank you! I’ll be coming to you when the time comes. Don’t want to kill it the first time I do it!
The safest bet is to prune when you see first signs of new growth 😊👍

Every day when I was a little girl, I walked past one of these on the way to school. It took me ages to identify, but now I’ve got a garden of my own, I am ecstatic to have this one delivered today! Can’t wait to get it planted this weekend #macro
I have a white one, love it
I didn’t know they come in white?!?! Although I’d still have gone for purple 😊
I have a white one too 😊
I’m going to have to google this @jaynehynesburton and @Metchick
Another non native that has snuck into the garden. Last year it only really attracted #hoverflies but this year it’s had lots of #bees and #bumblebees on it too because it is in flower so early. #plantsforpollinators
