No leaf fell in a week. I think it is recovering after scary two weeks. Unbraided the four stems too.
Very pretty
Thanks @clustyroen
Like this one, glad it's recovered 💚
I like this plant it looks like a giant spider plant...
@gjones It's still in kind of ICU. Still waiting for a sign of new leaf growth.
It's a dracanea reflexa... I had one for over 6 years and maybe watered it a dozen times . It's an amazing plant!
@brenhaas You mean it doesn't need watering at all? Well almost no watering at all?

So many leaves gone in one day. I don't know what's wrong. How can I know if I am giving too much or too little water.
@lilium @wesleybrian @brightcolours @slj @nej
I was trying to say yesterday, this plant is probably overwatered. Get her out of the pot and change the soil. Just in case check the roots.
I agree with @lilium the soil may be too boggy and not free draining enough I'd take it out of the soil remove any rot in the roots and repot it with some sharp sand 😉
@wesleybrian @lilium Couldn't it be because of less water because the soil feels very dry on the hand?
Could be yes, I automatically assumed it was over watered but if it hasn't had enough that's equally important let it soak in a water bowl for 10 minutes and see if it picks up 👍
My dracaenas will drop HEAPS of leaves when dry. Put yours in a big bucket of a weak seaweed solution and soak till the air bubbles stop.
I would buy a moister detecter this type likes humid conditions and is one of the hardest to keep. Are the fallen leaves brittle/dry or are they damp to the touch when they fall? Sometimes when the surface is dry it is soaking 2cm down or so, have a little dig down into the soil (that's why I recommend the detector it's good for fussy plants)
How long have you had this plant?
@slj I have this plant for two months. The leaves started shedding suddenly. I changed the soil and you was right. While it was dry on the surface it was too wet inside. Let's see how it goes. I can see new small leaves emerging on the top. I hope this encouraging.
Fingers crossed that sounds like good news I look forward to seeing it back to good health. Remember it will slow right down as winter approaches and will hardly need watered if it's not near a heat sources but it will still enjoy a mist 😊
As part of dracaena family traditionally dont like /need a lot of water, so perhaps allow it to dry out a bit. @zeeshan

A drying leaf. Could this be a cause of concern?
@wesleybrian @slj @lilium @brightcolours
I'm not sure. Is that the only leaf or is there more of them?
@lilium This is the only one so far.
Has it had any direct light or damage? if it's the only one I wouldn't worry too much it may just be the age of the leaf
I was going to ask the same as @slj . Plus is the soil to wet maybe?
It's not getting direct light and soil isn't too wet either. Should I let the soil dry out before watering again? @slj @lilium
I would let the surface dry but I would just stick to what you normally do it will loose old leafs just watch it for signs of any problems and stick to your usual routine for now the other foliage looks good
Looks normal to me. @leisel @nej
It's always better to let the soil dry. Just cut off that leaf and keep an eye.
I agree let the soil dry out a bit between watering. Otherwise this is normal, old leaves will dry out and eventually fall off
This variety needs humidity and is one of the hardest dracaena to grow. Are the leaves that fall dried or sort of wet? Investing in a soil moisture gauge is quite often a good idea with growing harder varieties I wouldn't be without mine. And also what kind of water do you use are you using tap water? And how long have you had it?

👌🏻📸👌🏻 lovely one for the wish list 👌🏻
@zeeshan I have this one and two other varieties. This is my favorite. #Draceana
@zeeshan I like the braiding concept. I am going to use it on the ones I have.
@Jason Saw yours. It's lovely.
Planted two more stems to make up for the leaves I killed on this plant.
@gjones It's a very moody plant. Just when I begun to feel that it's fine it starts shedding leaves like anything.
Hi, do you mist it? You could be losing leaves due to erratic watering? 🤔
@hayleyaj No I am not misting it. Watering it very sparingly.
Is it in a draught or direct sun?
Indirect light @hayleyaj
Mmm... Not easy to diagnose this one then! 🤔🤔
@hayleyaj So my policy is to add more leaves then I loose (by planting new stems) :)
Sometimes you have to concede the parent plant and start with a new one! I suspect this prefers to not have its feet wet? 👍🤔
