Original:'Gold Ellen' has bright gold foliage, which ages to dark green with gold/yellow outlines. The flowers are clear, deep pink, and bloom from April to June. New:Escallonia is an attractive evergreen shrub which is easy to grow. It sports glossy leaves and produces many attractive flowers in late spring and early summer which are usually pink, red or white. It makes a great specimen shrub, but also makes a great hedge and is often used for hedging in coastal gardens where it is very suitable for growing.
