From ICN MORGANIANUM Walther, 1938 Distribution : Mexico (central Veracruz). Description ( by 't Hart & Bleij in IHSP, 2003) : Glaucous-green stems. Leaves crowded, in 5 obvious spirals, oblong-lanceolate or elliptic, acute, falcate, subterete, almost orbicular, glaucous, 15 - 30 x 5 – 8 mm thick, flowering branches pendent. Inflorescences corymbs. Flowers 5-merous, long-pedicellate, sepals broadly sessile, connate, unequal, triangular-acuminate, 5 - 9 mm, petals basaIly connate, lanceolate, acuminate, subcucullate, mucronate, red-purple, 10 - 12 mm, erect, filaments pink, anthers light yellow, nectar scales broad, emarginate, deep pink. Cytology : 2n = 70 Common name : 'Burro's Tail' Note: Can be confused with a smaller leaved more compact plant called "Burrito" Other common names include Baby Donkey Tail, Donkey's Tail, Lamb's Tail, Rabo De Burro
