Foamy Bells Alabama Sunrise in the GardenTags plant encyclopedia

x Heucherella 'Alabama Sunrise'

Foamy Bells 'Alabama Sunrise'

x Heucherella is a cross between Heuchera and Tiarella, and shows some characteristics of both parents. It is an evergreen perennial grown primarily for their attractive evergreen foliage but they do produce flowers too. Height of plants can vary depending on the cultivar and they have varying leaf sizes in many different, stunning, colours and shades. If planted in shade, the foliage will be more pronounced than if they are in full sun. 'Alabama Sunrise' has deeply lobed leaves which begin golden-yellow with deep red veins, ageing to green by late summer. In cool autumn weather the older leaves turn orange-pink.
