Then I hand cut some taller grass in from on my flower bed. And found this piece of prickly pear growing beneath the grass. Good think I was hand cutting it and not mowing. Still surprised I didn’t cut it in half. I dug it up. And it has a big root ball. So guess this was some disregarded root of the prickly pear. So I moved it with the other two pieces. It is the center piece in the first photo.

While weeding I found this piece of disregarded prickly pear from when I took it out. It had rooted itself under some sedum. I took it out and planted it with the other surviving piece. It is the top little piece in the first picture.

So I had prickly pear cactus in one of my flower beds for a few years. It had not been doing well and it was a pain to weed around. So I took it out. All but on two pieces looked dead. I took the two pieces and just kind of threw them in a place with a little dirt figured it they survived great if not ok too. The piece lowest in the pic of the three is one of those to pieces.
Loving all this heat and sun we are getting this year.
