This is a peace lily #plantid my question is why are the leaves getting brown and white spots on them?? Help

Possibly mildew, wipe it off with a paper towel.. dont water on the leaves

Thanks! I tried to wipe it off, but it don't wipe off. It's stained onto the leaves. I was thinking it's from water?
