So far, all 30 Garlic cloves planted have sprouted. This has been an experiment for me as previous plantings have not been syccessful - probably planted at wrong time. Will get some more tomorrow and hope the weather is still warm enough for them to sprout. #garlic #gyo

Supposed to be super easy. I grow it in my rose pots to keep the bugs away. Works magically. How to harvest is another story. There are so many different kinds (hardneck, softneck, etc) times to plant it and ways to harvest it makes my head explode. Good luck Annette. Don’t mean to be negative. 😀

The gardener was one reason for failure in my previous garden. He thought they were weeds and chopped them off with his whipper snipper. It is an experiment for me to see if they keep the grasshoppers away. Harvest time supposed to be start of Summer (Dec here). No, not negative. Passed 1st hurdle to get them to grow now, to wait and see 🙃

Garlic. Planting a crop of this insignificant looking plant as an experiment to see if it will deter the wretched grasshoppers. Used an Aus grown bulb from the supermarket. Planting with a determined vengeance against the pests and plan to fill every space in the garden with garlic. #garlic

I planted heaps of garlic last winter and forgot to harvest it, I wonder if it will clump up and give me heaps this next season

@erino If you are going to get a second crop, the shoots will start appearing now. Have a dig around and see if the bulbs and crop are there. 🤞
