Love colour, nature, growing fresh herbs and vegies to eat; and flowers for my floral arrangements. Small garden in sub tropics of SE Queensland.

Eggplant. Continually producing. Always some in the garden ready for Mediterranean cuisine. #eggplant

Aubergine/Eggplant. Same bush, same growing time. This plant displays interesting behaviour. Has been very slow fruiting, producing minimum amount. Smallest in pic is normal size. Seemingly overnight eggplants become bigger and it produces an abnormal, heavy giant. 🤔🙄😯 #aubergine #eggplant

Aubergine/eggplant. Easy to see which one produces the best crop. More often too. This lot will be Baba Ganush (roasted eggplant, tahini and garlic - topped with olive oil and dried chilli). #aubergine #eggplant

@Muzz67 @Jasonsparkes1 @blissfulinoz The white, egg size aubergine/eggplant is Solanum ovigerum. Common names: 'Easter White Eggplant', 'Easter Eggplant' 'Albino Eggplant' 'Ivory Eggplant'. The white flesh is a bit more dense than purple eggplant/aubergine, a bit like creamy mashed potato. Taste is sweeter too with softer seeds.

Aubergine. Three varieties I have tried. Larger, recently planted already producing. Think I will stick with the larger varieties. All taste the same just easier to prepare one meal sized vegie that can be stuffed or sliced. Prefer the simplicity of preparation rather than fiddling with several smaller vegies. #aubergine #eggplant

Small egg size Aubergine. The white seems to grow faster, bigger than normal and is the most prolific producer. #aubergine #eggplant #gyo

Four lovely egg plants/aubergine. Really do look as if they have just been laid.

Oh yes, home grown. Planted 4 types, white, purple, white with purple stripes and purple with white stripes, 2 of each. One white plant has grown to 1.80 mts, branching like a tree and has good crop. Strangely, the other plants are 60cm and not such good croppers.

Aubergine, #eggplant #aubergine white, deep purple and purple with white stripe. White with purple stripe planted but not fruiting at the moment. Prolific fruit to size of tennis ball. Restrict to 5-6 per bush for continuous fruiting. Great in ratatouille. 🍆
