When I'm not on my bike, you'll find me in my organic-ish garden in #Cumbria. Favourite plants? Wisteria, hellebores, peonies, philadelphus...

Any signs of die back?

We have other ash trees that definitely have dieback. This is our largest and I’ve not looked closely but it does seem to be losing its leaves very early 😢 @joanboston

The countryside is going to look very different without them isn’t it 🙁 @charlotte

It might just be because autumn is coming. I read that the signs of autumn have been 2 months early this year.

That's so sad. I love trees

Me too Laura but I think it’s unlikely. It’s estimated that the UK will lose 80% of its ash trees from ash dieback 😢 @columbiariver

They are definitely giants of the forest

Oh no. That too would be awful. I hope some of them develop resistance 🤞🌲🌳 @columbiariver

My large Ash tree was dying from an attack of the Emerald Ash Borer. We got a tree specialist to come in and inject chemicals into many holes they drilled. It has to be done every 2 years. My Ash leaves have turned a beautiful deep red before they fall and that has not happened in years. It looks healthier too. I hope we have saved it. We lost a smaller one that was too far gone. Maybe there is hope for yours too. ❤️💕😊
