This is paradise Charlotte 💜@charlotte
It is. Next year I will love it even more.
It really is paradise. It’s called that. Paradise. On all the old maps. I love it even more for that. Next year we will all love so many things more... 😊@charlotte
A place called Paradise. 🙂
Yes, wonderful isn’t it @charlotte

Good morning peeps! This was taken yesterday in “Paradise”, which is the name of an ancient woodland near where I live 💙 #bluebell #bluebells
Beautiful and what a great name 💙💙
It’s a perfect name Jane, even when the bluebells aren’t in flower it is beautiful @pelly
Love trees, but woods freak me out Jacqueline unfortunately 😱😱
Gorgeous N morning Jaqueline 😍👋
This is a small deciduous wood next to the river so you might be OK here 🤔 I’d be surprised if it could freak anyone out, it’s so beautiful. @pelly
Morning Melanie 👋 @greenfinger14
When we come up again we’ll have to have a look. I don’t know what happens to me but for some reason I feel frightened and vulnerable, but I do make myself do it if the occasion arises Jacqueline 👍👍
That would be lovely. It has a small waterfall too so there’s the constant sound of the river. Just perfect 👌 @pelly
Lovely Jaqueline 💙💙
I love the sound of running water, it does sound rather lovely 😍😍
It is even more so in real life Vanessa but difficult to capture in a photograph @nessas

More #bluebell information for you this morning... This is from a short article by Lia Leendertz in The Guardian about 10 years ago. Fascinating. Fits with what happened in our bluebell wood when a neighbour took their wedding party in there 😢😢😢
Here’s the link Urszula 🙌 https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/gardening-blog/2009/mar/25/spanish-bluebells?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other @Urshy63
@awomanonabike I never knew that fact?! As pretty as the Spanish Bluebells are we have to preserve our native species. I get confused 🤷🏻♂️ with which ones which. 🙏🏼😊👍🏼
Neither did I until last night Christine. I think it’s partly about protecting the native ones but also the Spanish can take over a garden and be difficult to control. If you scroll back through my feed you’ll find some info about how to tell the difference @pixierose
@awomanonabike thanks Hun 👍🏼 I’ll do that. 😊🙏🏼
I’ll remember that if I get any , mine thankfully English 🇬🇧
Mine too now Julie 😊😊😊 @juliesgarden
Here you go @deborahbanks @ublaszko
Here you are JP @jpea
Thank you Jacqueline, though I tend to do that through clumbsiness anyway 😄 @awomanonabike

8 May 2018 • After a good day in the garden I’m going to bed so happy. I have native English bluebells in my garden. Years of digging out Spanish and hybrid bluebells has been worth it 💙💜💚💜💙 #bluebells #bluebell #englishbluebell
That's great news! 👍👍😀
I’m so pleased Urszula. The Spanish & hybrid ones are so hard to get rid of. Though I’ve just read that an experiment showed that the most effective way was just to stand on them 🙄 @ublaszko
I don't think I'd even recognise the hybrid ones. Must look it up for future reference. That's brilliant about the technique of stomping out non-native bluebells 😂 I might have to accidentally fall over and stomp on my neighbour's Spanish bluebells 😂😂
Beautiful
👏👏👏🤗
Happy stomping Urszula! The Spanish are fairly easy to ID Urszula, it’s the hybrids that are sneaky as they can look very similar to the natives. The blue anthers and pollen are the give away. @ublaszko
There is a bluebell wood near me. I will try and get down there and take a photo. It is the most beautiful place. It’s called paradise. Seriously, it is named on maps. And it is 💙💜 @cropchopntrim
I am stupidly happy about this Annette. I had got to the point where I was hating bluebells 🙄😏@Annettenoosa

Yay!! After years of digging out Spanish & hybrid bluebells, I have native bluebells 💙💙💙 #bluebell #bluebells #englishbluebell
You read my mind! I saw your other photo of bluebells and thought "how can you tell the difference?" 💙
I've also read that English bluebells are fragrant but Spanish bluebells are not. I find that the easiest way to tell the difference is to see whether the flowers lean to one side of the stem.
Can't wait to show u mine now lol ima be on a blue bell hunt lol thank u
I’ll need to add mind-reader to my CV Ruth! 😉😂 @sushiwaitress
Yes they are Urszula. Not sure why the RHS info (above) doesn’t mention that but it might be that you only get the scent if there are lots together 🤔 The hybrids will usually have flowers just on one side too... 🙄@ublaszko
Happy hunting Lesley! @cropchopntrim
Good to know about the anthers and pollen 👍👍
Yes I think that’s the easiest way to tell the hybrids from the native 🤔🧐😂 @ublaszko

Here you go Jeff. There’s a bit more info if you scroll sideways too 🤓 @jeatacake
Just did an update on my photo, but forgot to mention that the leaves are narrow too 👍
As the #bluebellwoods are turning a magical carpet of blue, this is a really good article about the #english-bluebell and the #spanishbluebell and #bluebell-hybrids #bluebell-advice #bluebells 💙 http://www.cumbriabotany.co.uk/look-out-for/bluebells/
I've read several articles on this and felt rather confused, this gives a really clear and concise explanation, thanks for posting 🙏💙
Lovely I remember picking them as a child when we went to the countryside, probably wouldn’t be allowed to now 🤔🌈
That’s what I thought too Jane 🤓 @pelly
Me too but best to enjoy them where they are I think now 😊 @prunella
I remember when I joined tags I put a photo of my bluebells on and wrote how beautiful they were.....but I wasn’t ready for the backlash I received that mine were Spanish and not English so I’ve been taking some out every year 😧😆😆
Oh no! I’m so sorry. I can be a bit preachy sometimes 😳 @wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom
#blueflowerlove
Thanks for adding the information on bluebells. They are looking lovely! @awomanonabike
You’re welcome Joyce, it just seemed a particularly clear and well-balanced article 😊 @joycemb
Oh it wasn’t you Jacqueline....😆 in fact I still have some I can’t seem to get them all out....
Phew! That’s a relief 😅 Stamp on them. Seriously. If you want rid of them, walk on them. It’s better than pulling them out apparently (unless you can get deep enough to get the bulb out) @wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom
