When I'm not on my bike, you'll find me in my organic-ish garden in #Cumbria. Favourite plants? Wisteria, hellebores, peonies, philadelphus...

28 March 2018 • Advice needed please. This is a huge Portuguese laurel that has been really hurt by the “Beast from the East”. It has dropped masses of leaves and has lots of dead leaves all over it. The question is: do I prune it now or just wait and see? 🤔 #plantadvice #advice

I would leave it alone for now. The dead leaves will drop off and with luck it will put on new growth. If it doesn’t recover naturally then you might want to think about pruning later. I hope that helps Jacqueline 👍🤞 @awomanonabike 😘

Hope it recovers 😬 one of my big Hebes is looking the same. Not many leaves left on it...

I’m sure it will Rachel it’s just whether or not I give it a severe prune, which would tidy it up a bit. Hope your hebe recovers @rachelbrooks

Think, like my Hebe, I’d be inclined to leave it to recover. And give a good feed 🤔

A severe prune at the moment may stress it more 🤔
