If I could only have one rose, it would be #gertrude-jekyll Beautiful? β Scented? β Climber (if you want it to it will)? β Repeat flowering? β Robust? β Just ππ #rosa-gertrudejekyll

Perfection πππ

One for the future wishlist I think π

Itβs very popular isnβt itβ¦.I canβt understand whyβ¦π€π€πππ

Oh definitely Jason π @hebelover

π Nah! Me neither @wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom

Dear Gertrude such a lovely rose. Perfect blooms I just love them. @awomonon abike.

Oh me too Joyce. I love it so much I have two! π @joycemb

Any ideas?!

A mutant by the look of it...Iβve had three so far....all first buds to open...couldnβt tell you why unless they caught the last frosts..

Weird isnβt it... @wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom

It is Iβve had a few double headers too..π€·πΌββοΈ

I wonder what has caused it π€ Otherwise this rose has never looked better or had more flowers π @wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom

Iβve just had a look on Google and one of the reasons is weather fluctuations ππΌ and yes it doesnβt seem to bother the rest of the plant..

πππ well weβve definitely had those π @wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom

Can there be a more perfect #rose ? It will climb if you want it to but otherwise behaves very well as a shrub. It has few thorns. It is beautiful, has a heavenly scent and is named after the pioneering garden designer and author. Whatβs not to love? πππΉππ #rosa-gertrudejekyll

I can't think of anything πππ

Looks absolutely perfect ππ»

Perfectly formed, lovely rose πΉ pic

Itβs just π isnβt it Jane @pelly

It is Sharon. It is my favourite without any doubt π @sharonhayden

Thanks Mark. Itβs easy to take a perfect photo of it as it is so photogenic! π @solly1961

Itβs beautiful....π

Thanks Elaine π @wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom

Such a beautiful one! π

Thanks Dan. I hope you have this one already. It is π @dan5584

Iβve just posted what I always thought it was Princess Alexandra but now Iβm not sure, can you have a look and see what you think x

26 Jun 2018 β’ No summer garden should be without Gertrude. She may not fill the garden with scent like the philadelphus but when you get up close itβs a beautiful #scentofsummer

She's a lovely Rose πΈπΈ

Beautiful π

I think itβs my favourite π€ @pelly

Thanks Alf π @gosmanalf

My favourite is my Rosemoor, but I only have three different ones (plus a few miniatures) ππ

If you ever think you need another Iβd really recommend Gertrude. She is extremely well behaved and happy as a small shrub rose or can be persuaded to grow against a wall πππ @pelly

Thank you for the advice Jacqueline. Until next doors conifer hedge comes down next month Iβm all out of space unfortunately @awomanonabike ππ

Wow thatβs amazing π

Next month?! Woohoo! @pelly

Thanks Sue π @suerichards

Oh I know, I can't wait but, and it's a worrying but, we won't be here when it happens as we are on a family holiday. I just hope they don't damage my two Hydrangeas that are in this flower bed @awomanonabike π€π€

Wish we had smell-o-vision...

Me too. Looks gorgeous @awomanonabike . πΉπΉ

This is my favourite rose @pelly . The #scent is just divine! Very easy too. I have given several as presents & they have thrived
Youβve just got to love the work of the #leaf-cutter-bee π π. An unusual one for #foliagefriday
Little biscuit cutter π
Yup Janice! π @lovestogarden
I think it's trying to make a jigsaw! π
π Itβs certainly trying to make something, though Iβm not sure what! I think itβs rather pretty π @lilybee
I think it is too, nature at its best π
Ours chose wisteria leaves instead, they are amazingly regular circles π
That must look amazing Sue, as wisteria leaves are already quite narrow π @churchfarmgarden
Yes they must have been very precise bees @awomanonabike ππ
