@barbielou If I may ask, how do you know for sure when the berries are ripe? In my experience, they blacken long before they Are ripe, but when they go ripe, there is no clear giveaway of their ripeness I have noticed save that they become very soft. Do you know any other ways to check for ripeness?
To be honest I found the easiest way to tell was to try one, they will be soft but not squishy, if they're still hard leave for a while longer. Make sure they are covered with netting though or the birds will get to them before you get the chance!
How old is that plant? She said jealously. Mine is only second year in and resembles a stick with little buds on lol
It was new last year... saying that when I was pottering around earlier I couldn't seem to find my other one! ☺
Mine was quite a good size to start with. 🌞

@barbielou thank you very much, I hope to try this. Eating an unripe one won't make me sick will it?
No I'm sure you'll be fine, itll just be a bit hard that's all.
