It's agave blooming season! This is #notmyplant . It's part of the landscape outside a shopping center near my house. I've been meaning to stop and take a photo of it for a few weeks, and finally got around to it. It's 8~10ft tall. It was swarming with bees, but they were crawling so deep into the flower clusters that none of them are visible even in the photos that I know they're in. For scale, you can see one flying between the flower clusters towards the bottom of the leftmost pic. #beemagnet
Those are amazing. We have them here too. For someone who’s never seen them in bloom before it’s hard to imagine from pics how enormous the tree size flower stalks are. Awesome 🤩
@philstalder right?? And this one's not even that big! There's a slightly bigger one outside a gas station across the street that's farther along (already full of plantlets and starting to dry out), and I'm trying to figure out how to hack it down and bring it home. I want to paint it white and stick it in a corner of my living room. 🤔 I got one last year, but it wasn't in ideal condition (broke a couple branches in transit), and my mom wanted it, so I gave it to her. 🤷🏻♀️
