Pistia Stratiotes

Good evening all! Thought I'd combine my three hobbies of photography, tropical fish keeping and gardening! This is some Dwarf Water Lettuce that I've recently added to one of my aquariums! I've never been good at keeping indoor aquatic plants alive but I have high hopes for this! 😀

@bigemrg Evening Ian. I was never able to keep aquatic plants either. I kept tropical fish for about 10 years but closed my tank down last year. Hope all's well with you. 😊

Evening Ian hows your tank coming along,have you posted any update pic's I've missed so many post's lately and a fab addition to put in,have you had any maramo (I'm not sure that's the correct spelling) moss balls before they are excellent and think they act like mini filters too 😊👍

I've seen open top tanks with water hyacinths floating on top before and it looked great

@mikethegardener - Good evening Mike! I kept freshwater tropicals for about 15 years - then had a decade break - and have just started up again this year! There have been quite a few advancements in the time I've been away! I'm currently setting up my third - and definitely final - tank! 😀

@daisy-jane - Evening Jane! Both current tanks are doing great thanks! Just got a small colony of Amano Shrimp for the 4ft tank and they're amazing! Never kept them before and they're really fascinating! I've seen those moss balls and may give one a go in my current project - a third tank for my bedroom! 😀

@daisy-jane - Oh yes, I've seen water hyacinth growing above too! Unfortunately all of my tanks have nice tight fitting lids! 😀

Shrimp? They are so tiny and cute. I have a few moss balls, and they are pretty cool. I just got two small marble sized ones for Mother's day.

@SikoMa - Some of the Amano ones I have are getting huge! Well, one of them is nearly two inches long! 😀

Ooh love amano shrimps Ian and another tank,you'll have Ian's aqautic's open in no time then lol,I was in my local aqautic shop just the other day looking at the coldwater fish but got sidetracked looking at the tropical section instead,I was like a kid in a sweet shop lol 😁😁
