Hello my GardenTags friends!!! I #needhelp on this on... My #Gardenia is my most beloved plant & it totally has me stumped right now! It unshapely and the leaves continue to yellow. I added a large dose of iron about 2 weeks ago. I read to prune after last bloom- look at how many buds are still waiting to open! I live in zone 9a/9b. We just had our first hard frost 2 nights ago. Any words of wisdom?? Thanks!
An Epsom salt solution can help with yellow leaves if it is a chemical deficiency. Epsom salt is magnesium sulfate and plants need it for photosynthesis. So it helps put the green in the leaves. And photosynthesis provides the plant with energy to grow and bloom, so it helps with all of it. Water with 1 to 2 tablespoons Epson salt to 1 gallon of water. Every 2 weeks.
Just googled gardenia care and they don't thrive on regular flower fertilizer. They need more acidic soil. It recommended adding coffee grounds, used tea bags or Epsom salt. And needs humidity. In hot climate morning sun with afternoon shade. Hope some of this helps.🤗

Over and under watering can cause yellow Leaves too. But if that is alright you could try the Epsom salt solution.
