#buddleia #wildlifewednesday #peacockbutterfly 31/07/19. Have had quite a few of these in my garden recently.
😍😍😍
Lovely @bluefox23 I have seen a couple recently but they are always too quick for me to get a photo 📷🤔
Beautiful! Love the matching purples 😉💜
I do love peacock butterflies, those 'eyes!' 😊 @ublaszko
@cjh123 yes I’ve been developing my 'stealth mode' 😂😂. But they are pretty flighty!
@kez001uk very clever of the butterfly to colour-coordinate! Not something I’m known for! 😂
@bluefox23 you and me both 😂 black on black is all I ever wear. Can’t go wrong then 🙈

08/07/18 #buddleia (mum’s) doing very well and flowers coming. Starting to see a few more butterflies in garden now but they won’t stay still for a pic!! 😊

Not amused. I've noticed some of the branches being broken and because it's by my bird feeder assumed it was the starlings. But no, this morning I caught a pigeon trying to get to the bird feeder I'd hidden in the buddleia for the tits and smaller birds. Made a right mess. Not happy at all!! 😡
They’re such destructive beasts! Got a huge one that keeps sitting on the fountain part of my water feature and he’s so heavy that he knocks the top off every time he flies away! I feel your pain 😤
Thanks @kez001uk Yep they are a nuisance. I had one eyeballing me yesterday when it was sat in the seed dish feeder!! 🙄😂
@bluefox23 🤣 they are cheeky looking things 🤣 just can’t get rid of them once they get a sniff you have food they might be able to scrounge 😂
@cyndi Thanks, yep am going to go out later when it's a bit cooler and tidy it up and will make a few cuttings. 👍🏼😊

#cataloging #buddleia #buddleja unknown variety. Light purple. Taken from a cutting of my parents a few years ago. 29/04/18
Enjoy all the butterflys it'll bring into your garden 👍
How often does it bloom
@gauravsh6 it blooms every year, all summer. 😊👍🏼
Gave other #buddleia a prune
Have to admit this is one of my least favourite plants. Partly because it dies really ugly but also because it is a massive known trigger for Asthma which I have quite badly and it grows like a weed round here so I risk an attack just going out or coming home when it's in flower.
@lydiastirling Oh no that’s not good! This one is really quite large now. Hedge trimmer couldn’t cut it back much more but might have to go in with a saw tomorrow as there’s a few more branches I want to get rid of!
At least the butterfly's like it.
I cut my buddleias right back as far as they'll go!
