@kez001uk I’ve always just let them be and they’ve multiplied every year!! Think they do better in my garden than my mum’s where the original ones came from!!

@bluefox23 you’re so lucky! I buy bulbs or roots every year and never had a single one even sprout foliage. I think maybe one has this year (can’t remember the pot they’re in 🤣) but no sign of any flower spike 🤷🏻‍♀️

This is 30!!!! Yes 30 #kniphofia #redhotpoker plants I have dug up to make way for the conservatory that’s to be built at some point!!! Not sure where I’m going to plant them all!! No wonder they didn’t flower too well as they must have been very crowded! I hope some of them survive! 22/06/19

#advice my landlord is putting a conservatory on the back of my house and it means this flower bed has to go!! Any advice for #digging up and storing #kniphofia ? #redhotpoker as I probably won’t be able to plant them until all the work is done and I have new flower beds added. Thanks 10/06/19

I’ve just repotted some of mine into temp pots - I’ve used a mix of gravel, manure and good quality compost all in equal parts. They should be fine and will survive no probs but they may or may not flower for a bit - fingers crossed they do.

How lovely! I love South African plants and only this year I found out how many varieties we already grow in the UK. For me, the smell of conifer sap reminds me of home as I grew up next to a pine forest. So beautiful and so fragrant 😍😍

For me it's the smell that reminds me of my parents ' home. When I was little my parents had multitude of fragrant plants. Roses, tiger lilies, peonies, lilacs, fruit trees etc. ☺

Thankfully no slugs or snails on mine, I did move it earlier in the year so maybe I upset it (a lot) 🤔🤔

@ublaszko Urszula, this is my biggest clump of red hot pokers. Think I originally planted about 3 of my mum's there. Reckon there's well over ten now. Crowding out the irises I planted at the same time. I should probably divide them and move some. 😊

Oh no! @littleshed1 I don't think I've had that problem, although I've found snails inside them. Hope they aren't eating the buds! 😲

@ublaszko Probably around ten years ago, when I was first starting to do garden. They were originally plants from my mum's garden and have multiplied over time! 😊

Oh that's a long time! Bet you have a nice big patch by now 😍 I would love to get my hands on the mango coloured one but I will settle for the usual red/ orange one 😅
