“I won’t buy too many seeds this year” 😊 Ooops.

#advice needed please. I planted out the Cosmos seedlings and they are constantly under attack by slugs (and ants!), lots of casualties. Is there any organic, kill-free solution to slugs? #slugs

Could you keep the seedlings somewhere else in pots until they are bigger plants?

@anges I could keep them in the greenhouse a while longer but they are already so big, their roots want to spread out!

Try putting gravel at the base of each plant. I'm going to try this with my dahlias.

#Cosmos Mixed growing nicely although sown quite late!

My initial batch of Cosmos turned out to be very frail and slow growing so this is a second batch sown about 2-3 weeks ago😍looking good and growing nicely in the greenhouse #cosmos #gyo

Took me 2 hours to clear this little patch and to plant some Cosmos seedlings. It was a bit of an impulse but I decided that they’ve suffered enough in the greenhouse. 5 degrees tonight 😬 I really hope they make it 🤞

Do not be fooled by the sun on the background. It actually snowed earlier today 😬❄️❄️❄️But the seedlings are keeping cozy in the greenhouse.

Seed sowing has began today 💖 in very tiny steps

Question about plastic plant pots please! Can you recycle them and where? Not referring to the small seedling ones - those I’ll reuse next year. But the bigger ones, not sure what to do with them. #advice #advice-pots

I either put mine in the recycling bin (not black ones because they can’t be recycled) or I take them back to my local nursery

Thanks, @rachelbrooks - I’ll wash them all and try giving back to the gardening centre. Hopefully they’ll re-use them.

@rachelbrooks My local gardening centre (Wyevale Gardening Centre) doesn’t accept returned plant pots. I wrote a letter to the Manager as I find this unacceptable, considering that other nurseries seem to accept. 😤

Oh. That’s bad. Maybe the smaller, independents are more accepting 🤔
