Striking 🤩
She’s Perdy 😍 you know they have a strong root ball, when they look like that.
@philstalder @gjones @docthrill thanks. This is a Mardi Gras I planted on the ground last October. Every year I usually plant 1 cutting of each kind of my eoniums on the ground.

@KariSamuel baby Mardi Gras cutting will soon be on its way. I’m making sure the stem callous first. Do you think we need heat pack for this guys or maybe they will do just fine without it since they love cold but not freezing weather anyways?. #aeoniummardigras #mardigras #aeonium #cherrysgarden
I think they can handle being shipped without a heat pack
@docthrill I think so too, but lets see what @KariSamuel thinks. I do have shipping warmers available if we need it.
I think I would opt for a heat pack! Next week we are back in the low 40's with some overnight temps at freezing! These will be indoor plants for me until at least late April in Wisconsin! I don't dare risk an early demise with such a special gift! @docthrill 💘
@KariSamuel I saw your post with all the snow last week.

You do have a lot, very nice 👍
Yes I do I have about 5 bushes of Mardi Gras
@KariSamuel I completely forgot about the Mardi Gras this past few days. I promise to get cuttings once it stops raining.
Wow gorgeous

Aeonium Mardi Gras flowers are getting ready to open up. It’s so beautiful 🤩 #aeoniummardigras #mardigras #aeonium #aeoniummardigrasflowers #mardigrasflowers #aeoniumflowers #succulent #succulentflowers #succulentlove #cherrysgarden
Wow 😳 you know there healthy when they’re flowering
Feels good knowing part of that’s in my garden
Yes they are very healthy just by looking, there’s no aphids or mealy bugs on the flowers. I use Diatomaceous Earth to help control bugs in my garden and other stuff @docthrill
My daughter tells me to use that all the time. I do use neem oil and being in a green house I don’t get too many pests, just tiny white flies
@docthrill I find neem oil to be too harsh on the plants

Death bloom on my #aeoniummardigras #aeonium #mardigras #succulent #succulentlove #succulove #cherrysgarden
I’ve got to get me another one of these. My very first feature on GardenTags was a Mardi Gras
@docthrill it didn’t give any babies?
No it was too small. Looking for a bigger one this time
@docthrill I don’t think I have seen anything bigger than 6 inch wide.
Mine was only 3 inches across very young. Gave it to my daughter and it died in her mother’s hands. Then I got another one the same size and I killed that one with the wrong soil and over watering it. Now that I know a great deal more about care for a Mardi Gras I’m ready for another one Looks like yours gets indirect sunlight otherwise it be mostly red from sun stress
@docthrill Are you in california? I can send you a cutting if you like one
I live in Fresno California and I’d love a cutting. 2829 w Ashlan ave #104 Fresno Ca 93705. If you see anything you like, that I post, feel free to ask me for a cutting, etc. .
@docthrill I’ll send you a cutting after the storm we are in. I have to make sure plant is dry before I cut to keep it healthy and prevent rotting
Excellent 👍🏻 thank you 🙏
#aeonium-mardigras are slowly getting it’s pink edges. I need to stress it more. #succulent
Another year or so she’ll be flowering. My favorite Aeonium
