#plantid This plant found its own way here and is quite magnificent....... it is about 1 metre tall and has a thick stem. Any ideas? @icedance Can you a avoid two on the trot?x?
Def #HimalayanBalsam - pleased I recognise and can name it! Watch the seeds pop! It will spread rapidly but you can just pull up what you dont want. Really pretty- have a google but don’t be scared of what you read!!!!
It's pretty but an invasive plant that is destroying our native riverside plants. I'm pretty sure it's an offence to cause it to grow in the wild and as the seeds are exploded up to 4 metres away that's quite likely.
You’re welcome David, Lin is quite right ... it’s an invasive species and it wipes out native plants, it’s causing chaos along river banks in particular, so the responsible thing would be to get rid as soon as possible as it will take over and spread beyond your garden too I’m afraid 😦
