Helleborus argutifolius

Few of these now starting to flower too. I'm trying to remember if I planted more last year or if this is has self seeded maybe?

Could have self seeded. I noticed some tiny self seeded ones in my garden - free plants! 😃👍

The Corsican one self seeds just as well as the normal ones, so quite possibly - it’s a good tall one. I got a little seedling from a friend recently so hoping to plant it out somewhere soon

I might be by myself here, but I'm not in love with helebores as pretty as they are. If they held their heads up it would be totally different, the ground gets the best view.

Yes I know what you mean although I have a few that hold their heads up the rest are shy....

If you have a look at helleborus niger cultivars they are more upright than hybrid hellebores. I have one called 'Praecox' and it's looking straight at me when I look out of the kitchen window ☺

Morrisons quite often mislabel their plants. It's a hellebore but not Christmas Carol. It might be helleborus argutifolius. 😊 It has been on my wishlist.
