I pruned the flowers off mine last year when they started to die out, but it's failed to flower this year.... perhaps i was a little brutal with the saw! Mine is definitely a very thirsty tree and the grass growing beneath it doesn't stand a chance.
An expert in garden centre told me that Cordyline only flowers every 7-10 years, or when the tree is beginning to slow up, i suppose i am trying to say , to reproduce offspring
This a very hardy Cordyline , my died back a fews years ago after a cold spell, i had it 18 years i snapped off the dead stem and renewed itself with 3 new stems ... id say keep it ..
Help me identify this plant - think this is yuka but my real question is - what do i have growing out of it and how do i get rid (or should I)??
The thing growing out of it is the flower. Its fine to leave it as bees love it 😀
Ah, erm, i knew that 😶 - thanks for help. Always thought this was a yuka - glad to now know what we have 👌
